We have been having a good summer. Amy has been working very hard helping her students finish up their various certificates. She is now beginning a couple of weeks of vacation before school starts (too) soon.
We have spent a lot of time at the pool, both in Derby and in Hutchinson with Derrick's parents. Glen is getting very "brave" jumping off the side of the pool. His newest trick is for him to jump into water about 2 feet deep and then sit down so the water's over his head. If we help him up quickly, he'll do it again. He is doing well at holding his breath. He will also stand on the steps into the pool and jump forward, going "to infinity, and beyond!"
Derrick has been busy watching Glen and beginning to prepare for the upcoming school year. He has started work on designing sets and planning rehearsals for his fall play, "The Sting," and organizing Cross Country practices. He has also been playing some serious baseball, basketball, and golf with Glen (most of the day, every day).
It has been a good summer, and we are looking forward to the next few weeks before it's back to the grind.
